Keira Gu’s primary practice areas include commercial dispute resolution, foreign investment, and commercial arbitration, with a particular focus on the commodities trading sector and legal compliance for foreign-invested enterprises.

Since commencing practice, Keira Gu has assisted lead counsel in providing comprehensive legal advisory services to several leading domestic and international commodities trading companies. In sectors such as energy and minerals, she offers multi-dimensional legal support to clients, covering internal corporate governance, contract drafting and review, compliance of trade structures, and commercial negotiations. In the field of foreign investment, she provides legal opinions on the establishment of joint ventures and wholly foreign-owned enterprises in China, assists with relevant qualification and license applications, and participates in compliance review work. Regarding corporate compliance and corporate governance, she has been involved in various compliance review projects, including due diligence, anti-corruption and anti-bribery, data privacy, and labor and employment compliance.

Work Experience

  • Keira Gu joined Shanghai CILS Law Firm in 2024 and is currently a practicing lawyer at its. Prior to joining CILS, she interned at several law firms and the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SHIAC), during which she gained exposure to numerous complex commercial dispute cases involving international trade, equity transfers, and joint venture deadlocks.

  • Keira Gu received her bachelor’s degree from Tongji University, and holds dual master’s degrees in law from Fudan University and Boston University.
